Her unwavering dedication to Kathak is evident in her compelling stage presence and her performances, which are notable for their clarity of movements and dazzling pirouettes. She is a devout follower and disciple of the renowned Kathak Maestro and Padma Shri awardee Guru Dr. Shovana Narayan, to whom she attributes all her achievements, along with her parents, especially her father,
Anupama's journey into Kathak began at the tender age of five, when especially her father, Dr.Naresh Jha, introduced her to this captivating art form. Since then, they have been her guiding light, source of inspiration, and pillar of strength.

Anupama's influence extends beyond the stage. She has been a part of renowned festivals such as the Natyanjali Dance Festival and the NCERT program. Her performances not only promote the art of Kathak but also Indian tourism. Moreover, she has diligently participated in various social causes , such as the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign for girl child education and empowerment in Bihar. Her entire purpose is to bring in the ethos and the sanctity of Kathak through her performances based on the teachings and learnings of her Guru Padmashri Shovana Narayan
